Polyester

Synthetic fabrics are no longer considered substandard and are often used in everyday life. Such fabrics are no worse than natural fibres and, in some cases, even surpass them. Polyester is the most popular plastic material. After all, at a low cost, it does not require careful maintenance, does not wrinkle, and is characterized by high wear resistance. Polyester fibre is one of the most used commercial fibres across the world. These are strong synthetic fibres made by blending the alcohol and acid and initiating a chain reaction. Although it looks unnatural material we can use recyclable polyester to produce different types like super soft Minky fabrics for babies.

 Strong and big molecules are generated in this reaction with a repetitive structure. Yarns are commercially used interlocked fibres of continuous length majorly used for weaving and knitting. The Polyester Filament Yarn is one of the finest and synthetic yarns that are used for various purposes like Embroidery. There are different types of yarn that are made by polyester and then they can be used for producing various kinds of knitting and woven fabric like holland velvet, Italian velvet, suede, fleece, sherpa, FDY, DTY, and other Textile.

History and technology of creation

Polyester fibres are a synthetic fabric derived from petroleum refining. The development of a project to create such material began in the 1930s and succeeded around 1945 when new artificial fabrics were actively used in daily life.

The polyester was created by British technologists who obtained it by chemical reactions with the multistage compound of the monomers present in the oil. This is how it is produced today.

The chemical manufacturing process involves heating the diglycol ether to +280 degrees and passing through the polycondensation step. The resulting fibres are treated with ethylene oxide. This produces polystyrene, from which polyester fibres are formed by melting almost to the liquid state and cooling. These synthetic threads are stretched to the desired thickness and interwoven in artificial canvas. Pure polyester is rarely used, often natural, for example, cotton is added to artificial threads, which gives the material certain unique properties.

The inscription "100% polyester" on the fabric almost never fits - it is a material for making containers and packaging bags. Most often, consumers are aware of these options for polyester fabrics such as Dacron, Tehsil, Dacron, Diolene, Sintepon, Hollofan and many others. Of course, there are the most popular and popular varieties:

holland velvet

·         microfiber - a thin, light and very durable fabric;

·         mini meshes - mesh materials used for sewing pillows in sportswear;

·         fleece - an unstructured canvas known for its greater strength and smoothness;

·   PVC polyester is a fabric with additional PVC treatment that is waterproof and resistant.

These types of polyester most commonly appear on clothing labels. They guarantee that the thing will wear off for a long time and retain its original appearance and color even after repeated washing.
